We're taking back the summer! Or are we?

The train takes us to Munich on October 3rd, where we will meet our charming niece and her boyfriend for dinner – a real highlight, especially since it’s Oktoberfest time in Munich.

After a cheerful evening, the next morning starts very early with our trip to the airport, and before we know it, we’re already in Zadar. Hello Croatia!
As we disembark, the sun greets us – but there’s also quite a chilly wind. Brrr! When we booked our flights, there were supposedly buses that went directly to the marina in Biograd. However, we didn’t know back then that they don’t operate on Saturdays. So, there's only one option: a taxi. And our sea legs get their first test already on land. Additional feature: the cockpit cheerfully lights up with warnings for a defective brake system and an empty tank. Great. Are we there yet?
Upon arriving in Biograd, we treat ourselves to a little breakfast and enjoy the view. It will still be a few hours before we can board the boat. In the meantime, we meet the rest of the crew – Annett and Christian are already there. While having coffee at the promenade and taking a short stroll through the alleys, the holiday spirit starts to build up. It’s almost T-shirt weather.
Finally, we are allowed to board the Sundance. We settle into our cabins and get comfortable – and shortly thereafter, dinner is served, followed by bedtime.
The next morning begins leisurely with breakfast in the salon. Outside, the wind whistles through the masts, and the sea appears rough and restless. In the afternoon, we attempt a small shopping trip – but without success. According to Apple Maps, the supermarkets are also open on Sundays. Unfortunately, reality disagrees, and we have to head back in pouring rain.
So later, we stroll through the town – actually searching for a café – and instead find a small minimarket that is thankfully open.
In the evening, we find ourselves at Restaurant Europa, which with its colorful chairs and playful decor looks like it jumped straight out of a travel guide. The seafood is delicious, and during our subsequent night walk through Biograd, we even score a tiramisu and some chocolate. A perfect first day at the Adriatic.
