On the way to the Luna Lodge

Finally arrived at the Luna Lodge, I can say that the journey here was both relaxing and a bit adventurous. Yesterday, I took the only bus of the day at 12 o'clock that took me to the place Puerto Jiménez. The ride lasted 8 hours, but it didn’t feel that long. The beautiful route along the coast offered some initial tropical glimpses. Air conditioning is a luxury that, of course, was not available. I always find it amusing how people complain about such things. I mean, sure, it’s stated on their website, but we are here in Costa Rica 😂 They take some old bus that has long seen its better days… Upon arriving in Puerto Jiménez, I made my way to a 'surf hostel' which was primitive but cozy and only cost 20€ a night. I had to wait an hour for the owner to arrive😅 There is exactly 1 room, which was already occupied by 4 other people, incredibly humid and hot. If I hadn't been dead tired, I would have never fallen asleep. Then I had to wake up very early at 4:30 to take a so-called colectivo. This was supposed to take me to Carate, a place where there is nothing but a landing strip. The trip lasted 2 hours, conducted in a 4x4 jeep because some terrain had to be crossed with water and the general road conditions and inclines required it. Then I was picked up by a driver from the lodge, hoping that I had not been forgotten. Because there is no network anywhere there.

Finally arrived at the lodge, I met the first people and let the owner show me around a bit. Later, and generally over the days, I will try to join as many tours as possible to get a good picture of where I actually am. I am excited and looking forward to this adventure!
