Hello dear ones, I am only writing today on day 6. On day 5, we were at the Pachapumpum volcano. It was magnificent. The nature, the mountains along the way, but the drive was incredibly long. 6.5 hours. For Peruvians, that's not long, but for me, it was, especially on roads worse than a forest path. It was only 184 km after all. We went up and down serpentines, and then another mountain and another and another... Again, such paths that were just cut into the slope, and you wouldn't want to sit on the outside. But as I said, the nature... unique. The tour guide was great, he drove really carefully. After 5 hours of going up and down, we arrived at the city of Huancasancos. Allegedly just before the volcano ;) but it still took another 1.5 hours. Again going down and up, and we drove for a long time at the top, through rivers, where I always closed my eyes out of fear that we would get stuck. Then finally arrived. 4200 m altitude, this time it didn't suit me. You could have also bathed in the hot springs there. Each spring had different temperatures, from 33 to 38 degrees. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling well and I skipped this part. But it was really great to be there, right at the top of the roof of the world. We were there for about an hour and then drove back. I had already been struggling with stomach problems on the way there. It had announced itself the night before. Stupidly, I had eaten salad at the restaurant a day prior. It was really dumb, and I know better, but it was somehow the power of habit. Then fever struck too; we stopped once more in Huancasancos, the men wanted to eat something and I looked for a pharmacy. In Peru, you can get everything you need without a prescription except for anesthetics. I then got something for the diarrhea and the fever and got myself back in the car. Eating was not an option for me. The return journey was hell, it dragged on like chewing gum. We were in Ayacucho at 20:00, and my destination was bed.

Today around 7:30 I woke up again and I feel good again. The fever was due to altitude sickness. Going from 2700 to 4200 was too fast even though it took 6.5 hours. So today is a rest day; I'm not so fresh anymore. Then I'll write and read my blog :) And then I'm looking forward to tomorrow refreshed.
