Along the east coast of Tasmania, Coles Bay in Freycinet National Park is the ultimate spot. The main attraction is Wineglas Bay - absolutely wonderful to look at. Whether you hike to the lookout, take a boat tour or a helicopter flight - if you are in Coles Bay, you have to go there.
We decided to hike to the Lookout . It starts in The Fisheries, the loop is 3 kilometers long in total | 150 meters of elevation gain without a break on the ascent, which is a direct replacement for the gym.
Then at the Eating abalone at Freycinet Marine Farm , a very popular delicacy in East Asia. And driving past Sandpiper Beach on the way back - a wonderful day.
Our tips
In the small town of Coles Bay there are two small corner shops with an integrated post office, wine and beer in the pub next door, an ice cream parlor and a few restaurants. At Swanwick Bay and Sandpiper Beach there are many beautiful houses with a view of the sea and also some luxury resorts.
