Busselton and the Jetty

Beginning of January 2025

One of the longest jetties in the southern hemisphere is located in Busselton, Western Australia, and is 1841 meters long. The walk back and forth takes just about an hour. The view of the mainland at the end of the pier is breathtaking.

What is worth seeing in Busselton and its surroundings

• Grab a beer at the Shelter Brewery with the motto 'Born and Brewed in Busselton'
• Celebrate New Year's Eve at The Goose, the fireworks were at 10 PM, just like in Sydney, but still lovely.
• Visit Simmos, one of the top 10 ice cream shops in the world (USA Today). Over 60 ice cream flavors, huge crowds, and absolute delight. Our favorite flavors: Pistachio and Ginger Biscuit.
• Tour 1
  The Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park stretches along the coast and connects the two ends with a 'Cape to Cape Walk Track' (about 120 km in total). From Busselton, drive north via Dunsborough to the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. Then admire the beautiful beaches of Bunkers Bay, Eagle Bay, and Meelup Bay. Continue to Yallingup, where very nice houses and villas sit on the hillside with ocean views. Check out one of the small art exhibitions south of Yallingup and then definitely visit Smiths Beach and Canal Rocks, where the resorts become exclusive.
• Tour 2
  The small town of Augusta serves as the starting point for the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, the southernmost point of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. Here, the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific Ocean meet! On the way back to Augusta, take a detour to a special wine estate: the Subsea Estate conducts the fermentation process of grapes in gallons at a depth of 20 meters in the sea. Tours and wine tasting are offered, paired with wild-caught green-lipped abalone - a delicacy! Afterwards, stroll along the small shopping street in Augusta and finish off with a coffee.
• Tour 3
  A tour to the wine region is a must in the Margaret River area: Drive south from Busselton along the Bussell Highway and take the Hermans Mill Road. Continue onto Tom Cullity Drive towards the Caves Road heading north. Along this route, there are many opportunities for tastings. We particularly enjoyed: Margaret River Chocolate and Nougat, the Cheeky Monkey Brewery, Brookland | Houghton Wines, and especially Clairolt Streiker Wines.
