21.3. - Hanoi Citadel

Slowly, a certain state of exhaustion sets in. We are weary of the noise of the cramped space and especially of the many tourists. Nevertheless, we set off to the Citadel. A lot has happened on this site over the centuries. After World War II, it became largely secularized and is partly a museum today. According to the guidebook, a visit is only somewhat worthwhile; I believe he is right about that.

However, the walk there and back is, as always, very impressive.
