We fly from Hanoi to Da Nang on March 23rd in the afternoon. From there, a car will pick us up and take us to our new accommodation, a one-bedroom apartment with a huge terrace, within walking distance from the beach. After our arrival, we walk the four kilometers to Hoi An to withdraw cash and rent bicycles. Both go smoothly, and we are mobile and flexible from then on.

Already on the plane, we decide to skip further, larger excursions—no Hue, no Cloud Pass, just sun, beach, and sea. Hanoi has exhausted us.

So, I explore our surroundings in the way we do today, with Google Maps. I find a bakery café for the next day where they serve drinkable coffee, croissants, and pain au chocolat. After that, we head to the beach for some food and swimming.

The days go by something like this. On the fourth day, we cycle to Hoi An to buy a ball, which happens somewhat by chance. This allows us to expand our beach sports activities to include ball games on land and water.
