Knin - a surprisingly beautiful overnight spot

Stopover in Knin. This place was meant to serve just as a place to stay overnight. I ended up in a motel where I felt a bit uncomfortable for the first time, as a solo female traveler among a bunch of older gentlemen. I often received sideways glances, but was left alone.

At least I had my own room, though it was only semi-clean, but it had a private bathroom and my own balcony!

The next day I had until 7 PM, as my next train didn't leave until late. Once again, I tried to make the best of it and went on a hike around Knin, visiting another waterfall and climbing up to the castle.

The trail to the waterfall was a relaxed 4 km.

Upon reaching the waterfall, I was once again amazed at how clear the water can be, and just how powerful such water masses can be. In my attempt to cross to the other side of the bridge, I got quite wet and almost swept away, but I did see some beautiful rainbows.

And then, I just enjoyed the nice weather and the sound of the water, sat by the river for a few hours, and planned my next days.

And then I made my way back along the river, through a village or two, and up to the Knin castle.

The castle was built in the 9th century and has remained in its current state since the 16th/17th century, as we can discover it today.

In the evening, I took one of the last trains for the foreseeable future back to the coast.
