The early bird catches the worm...or something like that? Anyway, I woke up early and took advantage of the good weather to go for a hike 35km away. The route there followed the coast, and of course, I had to stop every now and then. I just can't get enough of the beautiful views here – the mountains, the snow, the small islands, the red houses, the colorful wildflower meadows, the crystal-clear streams...

The approximately 10 km hike began in a marshy area, led through a small birch forest, into a bare moss landscape, over scree, and ended on snow-covered slopes. I decided not to continue. From a distance, I could see some caved-in patches in the covered area, which collapsed much deeper than I would have expected. Unfortunately, this prevented me from enjoying the view from the summit, but it was still breathtakingly beautiful from above. And climbing around in the scree was fun, too.

The return trip was super fast. I guess there was a bit of a tailwind. This time I made fewer photo stops because it started to drizzle. But I managed to get home before the rain.

In the evening I had a bit of time to read again and plan my next routes.

A few notes on the side:

On the way there, maybe ten cars came towards me and exactly two minibuses overtook me.

During the hike, there was no one to be seen anywhere and I could hear nothing except the wind, the chirping of birds, my footsteps and my snorting.

Once I got to the bike, I had the chance to practice my Norwegian. An older gentleman (I'd say 70) was going for a "short" bike ride (without the E) "bare 80 km i dag" (only 80km today).

And one last thing: I had good network coverage even (almost) at the summit.

Gibt es dort eigentlich Braunbären? Wölfe doch sicherlich, oder?
