Day 18 - See you soon, beautiful Norway!

Last morning in Troms (the region around Tromsø). In the morning I packed my last things and was curious about the weight measurement at the airport for my bike - Davey was unsure how accurate their scale is.

Pierre, the owner of the great café in Svensby with the delicious apple-cinnamon muffins, was scheduled to be in Tromsø for shopping today. So we agreed to meet for breakfast “on-the-Go.” We bought sandwiches and coffee and then took his green monster (an old prison transport van from the Berlin police) one last time to Ersfjord. In the fog, we climbed one of the hills and were rewarded. Within 30 minutes, the clouds cleared, and we enjoyed sunshine, a fantastic view, and a delicious breakfast. Pent.no is reliable!

By the way, I found a nearly ripe cloudberry in the moss landscape today and was delighted. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough to snack on.

After inspiring conversations and enjoying nature for a while, we headed to the airport. Luckily, my bike was “light” enough at 100g, and the check-in was so quick and smooth that we still had time for a stroll through his favorite store just around the corner. We went to Rebel, a second-hand store with great furniture.

Here at the airport, I have a clear view of the Tromsdaltinden, and I am already reminiscing about this incredibly beautiful vacation. I will miss the rugged mountains, the snow-covered peaks, the idyllic mountain lakes, the delicious water sources at every corner, the lush green fields, meadows and forests, the crystal-clear fjords, the white beaches, the wild weather (all four seasons in a day), the cozy, disheveled reindeer, the screeching seagulls, my “home beach” with the shipwreck, the powerful and somewhat confusing midnight sun, the delicious cardamom and cinnamon rolls, my wonderful host, Davey, and so much more… maybe I will even miss the elevation meters in Berlin and the surrounding area?
