My day today started again very calmly and cozily with a hearty coffee. Last week, I had chosen a concert by the Mainz (!!!) men’s and boys’ choir at the Arctic Cathedral. I couldn't believe they actually traveled from Mainz, but after talking to the conductor, it turns out that Mainz and Tromsø have entered into a sister city partnership with a lively exchange. The sound of the choir and the acoustics of the church were magnificent. I don't have a great passion for church music, but that was truly wonderful and also impressive. Davey was equally thrilled.
In the afternoon, I started a hike up the Blåfjellet. With all the rubble, it was sometimes difficult to find the way. The marking eventually just stopped. It wasn't high, but I had to concentrate for quite a long time on positioning my steps well and choosing the right stone to avoid slipping / falling, which made the hike challenging. There wasn't a soul in sight for miles. The view was once again phenomenal, and I even got lucky… Slowly, the sun started to come out a bit. After the two peaks, the hike became very relaxed again (without rubble, with a clear path). The views of Tromsø, the surrounding mountains, valleys, fjords, mountain lakes, and the discoveries of tiny, intensely colored flowers were as breathtaking as ever.
