Day 9 – Karaoke escalation and probably the largest tequila performance in Turkey The report from yesterday comes today. Why? Quite simply: The evening completely escalated. But let's start from the beginning. It all actually started quite harmlessly. On the evening of Day 8, a small group of vacationers headed to the hotel's Irish pub. A small room, lovingly decorated like a tavern – perfect for “just a quick drink.” Everyone knows, of course, that exactly such evenings can become dangerous. Once we had connected to the sound system via Bluetooth, fate took its course. Suddenly music was playing, everyone was singing along, and a quiet nightcap turned into the unofficial dress rehearsal for the karaoke night on Day 9. Accordingly, the next morning started off quite tired. And as it always is at the end of a vacation, we suddenly felt like we had forgotten something. So we took the dolmuş back to Manavgat to the bazaar. And this bazaar is an experience every single time. There is truly everything: clothes, spices, bags, souvenirs, things you didn't know you needed – and of course, plenty of people. Tourists just like locals who were doing their regular shopping for everyday life. A delightful chaos. After that, we went back to the pool, where we first had to break in the new swim shorts and the new T-shirt. After all, you don’t buy these things just to look at them. After dinner, we took one last round over the shopping promenade. Just to make sure we had really bought everything. Just in case. And then karaoke began. What. A. Night. Our entire table joined in, showcasing everything musically: Udo Jürgens, Gildo Horn, Roger Whittaker, and Wolfgang Petry – the complete range of musical high culture. The absolute highlight, however, came at the end: Seven people simultaneously on stage, performing the song Tequila together. And anyone who knows the song knows: You only really have to call out “Tequila!” once. But THAT was celebrated as if we had just played a stadium concert. The atmosphere was so great that after the karaoke night, it felt like half the hotel came down with us to the Irish pub. Suddenly, there were about 30 people there, all in high spirits and completely thrilled by the chaos we had created. The waiter down there probably had never had so much work at once. But he bravely soldiered on. Somewhere around 2:30 AM, the official celebration ended. That's why the report is coming only today. And now the last full vacation day is actually upon us: Today we head to “Stars by the Sea.” We are looking forward to the last day – and of course, to one last legendary evening.
