Day 11 – Farewell, Airport Romance, and the Realization: We are Travel Professionals

Today, the report comes a bit earlier. But let’s be honest: What else is there to do at the airport besides wait, people-watch, and buy overpriced drinks?

So, let's take this time for a brief look back at this truly amazing trip.

Today was entirely about farewells. Saying goodbye to the hotel, the service staff, the entertainers, and of course, to all the nice acquaintances made over the past few days. It’s crazy how quickly you get used to people and routines. After just a few days, you suddenly know the bartenders, waiters, dart opponents, and karaoke teammates better than some neighbors back home.

By the way, the big question of the last few days was also answered today: Do all the purchases fit into the suitcases?

And lo and behold: Yes. Perfectly even.

Both suitcases weighed exactly 19.3 kg. I think we’ve developed a professionally trained eye for how many clothes, bags, and “absolutely necessary” vacation souvenirs one can buy without falling into the overweight trap. Almost like travel professionals.

Of course, a final round of darts was played with the entertainers to wrap things up. Tradition must be upheld.

After that, the last five euros were invested sensibly – in a shave. One wants to arrive home looking somewhat civilized and not as if they had just survived two weeks on a deserted island.

Of course, before departure, we made full use of the all-inclusive offer. Travel snacks included. After all, we paid for it.

At 1:40 PM, we were picked up – after what felt like countless hugs and goodbyes – and taken to the airport. And now we’re sitting here, drinking hot chocolate and waiting for our flight to board.

It really has been a wonderful time. We experienced so much, laughed a lot, met new people, and probably bought more than originally planned.

The highlights of the trip? Definitely:

• The full closure on the way there, including a minor nervous breakdown.
• The broken glasses and the Turkish optician superheroes.
• Parasailing over the sea.
• The boat tour to Manavgat with a “sporty” disembarkation.
• Turtle-seeking thanks to Instagram.
• The legendary White Party.
• The absolutely wild karaoke night, including the “Tequila” performance.
• The Irish pub, which briefly became the most popular party location in the hotel.
• “Stars by the Sea” featuring Norman Langen, Manni Ludolf, and Menderes Bağcı.
• And of course, all the little moments in between: pool, beach, darts, cocktails, shopping, and lots of shared laughter.

Now it's time to head back home. With full suitcases, slight muscle soreness, many photos, and even more stories.
