Tok Tokkies are beetles with long legs that scurry through the desert. We took a guided hike to get closer to the Tok Tokkies and other desert inhabitants. During the hike, we got to know many plants, insects, birds, reptiles, and mammals up close. Especially the world of insects is barely perceptible from the car, like this dung beetle that burrows a cave into the sand of the Namib. Furthermore, the hike was also a pleasant balance to the extensive driving on our trip.
