Grip in the toilet

We’re starting the day relaxed today, enjoying our breakfast without any rush.

The family council has decided against a hike/safari at the Waterberg.

Instead, the youth would rather go shopping in the city first. Since today is Heroes' Day in Namibia, we weren't sure about the store opening hours. There isn’t much of a holiday feeling here, so everyone managed to find something for their already packed suitcase.

Afterward, we head to the Cheetah Conservation Fund with mixed feelings, a conservation organization for cheetahs.

Opinions about it vary widely on the internet. And since unfortunately, no one crossed our path in the wild, we go during feeding time (which is supposed to be the best time to at least experience some action).

Unfortunately, we weren’t impressed at all. Unmotivated staff and lethargic animals in far too small enclosures.

It’s a shame; this excursion was supposed to be a fitting conclusion to our really wonderful holiday in Namibia!

At least we spotted a few warthogs on the way back. We had searched for them in vain until now 👀

To top it all off, an email 📩 arrives stating that our scheduled direct flight from Windhoek to Frankfurt will have to make a fuel stop in Angola 🤮. Well, thanks for that; the flight time will thus be extended by 1 1/2 hours.

Suitcases 💼 are almost packed, postcards sent 📨. Tomorrow we aim to arrive safely in Windhoek and return the car at the airport. Then it’s homeward bound ✈️🇩🇪
