Especially the many gravel roads in Namibia require a lot of maintenance, as the passing vehicles leave corrugated tracks and there are also relatively large potholes in the roads. The road maintenance is relatively simple on the gravel roads, it requires 2 people, a CAT grader, a mobile home, and two road signs (Caution grader). One person operates the grader while the other person clears large stones from the processed track. Whenever we see either a 'Caution grader' sign or the mobile home, we are already looking forward to the two men who are always waving at us and to a quieter part of the road ahead. Once the two have graded a section of road, the mobile home is attached to the grader and driven to the next section.
