The famous Deutsches Eck is crowned by the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument from 1895.

Opposite is the reconstructed Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, serving as a sort of “watch on the Rhine”.
The river is regarded as a national German asset, as 'it' signifies the victory over Napoleon and the 1814 Congress in Vienna.
Today, the foreland is a favored viewpoint for fireworks, New Year's Eve, and the Rhine in Flames.
