Today, my unicorn Ursula and I treated ourselves to another beach day. Swimming, sunbathing, and indulging in culinary delights – this is how one envisions island life, right? But the highlight of the day awaited us in the evening: Sunset Town.
This place is only 2.5 kilometers from our hotel, but when we arrived, we felt like we were on a time-travel trip to Italy! Mediterranean buildings, cobblestone streets, and as a crowning touch, a replica of the Colosseum – which here is inhabited, not by gladiators, but by the cable car station. It was almost too kitschy to be true, but that was exactly what added to its charm.
We had tickets for the famous “Kiss of the Sea” show. This mix of light show, fireworks, and floating acrobatics on jetpacks amazed not only me but also completely captivated Ursula. She was wowed by all the sparkle and glimmer and was bouncing around wildly on the “Kissing Bridge” – which, by the way, is another highlight and seems perfect for an Instagram photo. Ursula's eyes sparkled almost as brightly as the fireworks that exploded in the night sky.
After the show, we strolled a bit through the charming streets of Sunset Town. The atmosphere was magical: street musicians played soft melodies, fairy lights were everywhere, and the salty scent of the sea filled the air. With an ice cream in hand and Ursula by my side, it was the perfect conclusion to a grand evening.
And as always, by the end of the day, I was once again glad that Ursula never wants to do without sparkle – she truly knows how to make life shine!
