Day 10 - Ho Chi Minh City: The Mekong Delta and the Hope for the Glitter Dream
This is my moment!

When the alarm clock rings at 05:00, the question arises: Am I a hero or just crazy? But for Ursula, my grumpy unicorn, the answer was clear: Muffelhorn mode activated. With a mix of tiredness and anticipation, we dragged ourselves through the last few minutes in the hotel room before getting into the taxi at 05:45.
At 06:30, we arrived at the airport and were met with a surprise: No delays! Bamboo Airways was on time – perhaps it was due to the early hour or the fact that I wasn’t flying with my usual unlucky airline Vietjet. Who knows. At 09:15, we landed in Phu Quoc, Vietnam's island paradise. But as it always goes: Too early for hotel check-in. So, we stashed our luggage and set off towards adventure!
And then it happened. Vacation. Real vacation. As soon as my feet touched the sand and I saw the turquoise sea, I knew I had arrived. The cities were impressive, no question, but nothing compares to the smell of salt in the air, the warmth of the sun, and the feeling of just being by the sea. Meanwhile, Ursula built a sand cave that she proudly called her 'unicorn resort' and enjoyed the shade.
The rest of the day was a dream. Splashing in the warm sea, building sandcastles that ended up being more abstract art pieces, and pure idleness. The day concluded with a dinner right on the beach, accompanied by live music and the sound of the waves. Ursula even danced briefly – although the unicorn-typical stomping drew some puzzled looks.
In the end, we fell tired and content into bed, freshly showered. I am curious about what Phu Quoc has in store for us tomorrow, but one thing I know for sure: The vacation has officially begun!
