car ride and start

Published: 27.05.2016

It starts at six in the morning.

It gets hectic before the start. Is everyone here? What else did I want to take with me? Something came to mind! (It would have been tea bags)

But I thought of toilet paper...

So at exactly six, I pick up my father-in-law.

First, we have to put the bicycles on the bike carrier. Easier said than done. The handlebar is in the way of the saddle. Get some tools out and then it fits.

The ride goes smoothly. Stop for coffee, fuel, bathroom, and devour sandwiches.

At 1 p.m., we are in Passau!

Circling the parking lot and unloading the bicycles. Put the luggage on and finally! Off we go.

Another quick bathroom break and merge into traffic. Not that easy. My father-in-law is honked at unfriendly by a bus driver. The driver has to wait at a red light for this and we pass him on the sidewalk.

Now we pass beautiful castles and churches.

We have to stop for coffee and then we continue.

The highlight is a small ferry boat that takes us to the doorstep of the campsite.

Pitching the tent is quick.

Since it got very warm, we start with a large pale ale. How refreshing it is!

Now we feel like jumping into the pool! It's a bit cold, to be honest. Then under the sometimes warm shower.

Now it's time for our star menu.

- Tortellini

- Olives

- Landjäger (German Sausages)

And an October tea rounds it off.

Since it's very mild, we take a walk.

On the way back, we come across an ice cream and we enjoy it in the company of a German couple. They couldn't get a table in the hotel's own restaurant, so they eat a ready-made pizza with beer.

Now it's time to brush our teeth and go to bed.
