Luxury has its end🥲

We enjoyed one last delicious breakfast at our hotel before leaving the island of Praslin. We took a taxi to the harbor and from there, the ferry to 'Bicycle Island' La Digue. Even though it was only a 15-minute ride, we could clearly feel the strong waves 'out there'.🌊 In 5 days, we have to endure the trip to Mahé, which lasts over an hour and has a bad reputation when it comes to seasickness (🤮)... What will that be like?! Once we arrived at La Digue, a taxi took us to our next accommodation in the north of the island. The Secret Garden Villa is situated on a mountain and can only be reached via an extremely steep path.⛰️ We already knew in advance that the accommodation is very 'green' and quite different from the previous ones. After coming straight from a 4-star hotel, the rustic style did make us pause for a moment.😖 The entire building is mostly made of wood, windows without panes replace the air conditioning, and a string is our 'room key'.🫣 Not to forget the many animals that roam around here: From geckos to chickens, peacocks, and even giant tortoises, everything is present. It takes some getting used to, but we are up for the challenge.💪🏻
