Return Journey Marathon✈️🚄

We used the 6-hour layover in Addis Ababa for dinner, sleeping (it was very uncomfortable on the hard plastic chairs), and freshening up.🪥 At 00:15, the flight to Rome took off. This time, we surprisingly managed to sleep well (Janike thanks to her self-made scarf construction).🧣💤 Our sleep was only interrupted by the flight attendants bringing us food. It was a bit disturbing again, but one is happy to wake up for pasta in the middle of the night.😂 Upon arrival in Rome, Yannick craved pizza (at 7 AM) and was quite sad that the pizza ovens in the airport restaurants were unfortunately still off so early.🍕😢 So, we settled for croissants for breakfast (there were even vegan ones!😋). It felt incredible to finally be back in Europe after such a long time. The last flight over the Alps from Rome to Zurich went by quite quickly (only 1.5 hours). Once we had received all our luggage (no small feat given the odyssey😅), we had to wait 1 hour for the train. We used this time for a quick shopping trip, where we stocked up on snacks for the train and bought vegetables for a soup tonight.💪🏻 We are currently on the IC train to Stuttgart and have finally made it home in 1.5 hours.😍
