...what can I say, we arrived in Tokyo this afternoon..and the city has presented itself in such a way that we are curious to see how the next days will unfold.....but let's go step by step.
Our start was today in Kamakura.....well-rested...up at 6 to pack breakfast and set off at 9..First, we took the cable car towards the sea for a small beach stroll and to cool our feet in the water...then we continued with the old streetcar to Hase (Yes, you read that right) to visit the Kòtoku In, a massive Buddha statue...here you can also admire the Buddha's sandals 😉.
After that, we took the train back to the hotel...grabbed a lunch snack and boarded the regional train to Tokyo....the journey took 45 minutes...The city is so huge. In no time at all, it had swallowed us up.
After checking into the hotel, we went straight to the Government Tower on the 45th floor to get a first panoramic view of Tokyo...amazing...Since our hotel is located in the Shinjuku district, we also visited a few local attractions..Gozilla and the 3D cat.
After our first attempts at swimming in the sea of shopping districts, we are ready for tomorrow.
After dinner, we went back to the Government building to see Tokyo again in the dark...not without admiring the light show that took place on the outer facade.
Awe-struck by the impressions of the day, we fell into bed.
Good night Germany..see you tomorrow.
