The breakfast began just as the dinner had ended. Many small bowls with delicious items, but also less delicious ones (fermented cherries are one of those items). After that, we...

Everyone around the age of 35 will surely remember that Nagano was the host of the Olympic Winter Games in 1998 and our athletes, Katja Seitinger, Uschi Disl, or Hackl Schorsch..(Georg)
Well, it’s currently summer, but the winter sports resort can also advertise itself now.
Breakfast started off completely differently than the past 2 weeks...because the hotel has a partnership with Wendy's Burger, so along with western pastries and muesli, there were also burgers and fries.. My stomach didn’t want that, so I stuck with a little muesli and coffee.
Today was another hiking day with a lunch break...so we took the Highland Express bus to Togakushi, which is located 1 hour and 1,300 meters above sea level, to hike to the shrines of the same name and then continue to the nearby Mirror Lake.
Although this hike had fewer highlights than 2 days ago in Magome and was also more frequented, we were glad to be in nature.
The ancient cedar trees, which are about 300 years old, were extremely impressive.
And also the Mirror Lake, which just didn’t feel like reflecting the mountains, but let the wind disturb its calm.
After a big lunch with Togakushi Soba (cold buckwheat noodles), a specialty from Nagano, very delicious, we then visited the last shrine, consisting of 5 shrines.
Then it was time to head back in the afternoon, as thirst drove us....to a sake brewery where there was a tasting event...and the colleagues were not stingy...
For a cultural conclusion in Nagano, we visited the Zenko-ji shrine and its associated pagoda before heading back to the Wendy’s 😁 Hotel in the evening to prepare for the next day....the tour to the holiest mountain...the landmark of Japan...Mount Fuji.
Good night Germany...see you tomorrow
