Walk through Warsaw
Warsaw is a huge city, but also beautiful and impressive. It is the largest city in Poland and comparable to Vienna or Budapest. This city was not on my wish list until now....

Route: 92 kilometers, cumulative: 2,573 kilometers | Elevation gain: 330, cumulative elevation gain 9,090 meters, distance from home: 1,006 kilometers (as the crow flies)
The Castle Inn hotel provided me with everything I needed at a good price. Primarily, it was a place with many helpful people. Upon arrival, I received assistance with my e-bike, and the manager helped me carry my luggage up two flights of stairs. This old venerable house doesn't have an elevator, which I can completely understand.
Last night, I suddenly thought about taking the bike out of the breakfast room, as I can't do that while guests are having breakfast. So, I went down two floors to the reception, where the lady present kindly told me that it wasn't necessary. Breakfast is served starting at half-past eight. By then, I wanted to be long gone. Then she talked to me about my Baltic tour, and we quickly realized that we could converse in German. She mentioned that the Swiss have their own language.
When I wanted to go back up to my room, I remembered that I would like to take a photo with her for my blog. She eagerly agreed and introduced herself with her first name. Her name is Paulina and she is getting married in October 2026. She also asked me how one can maintain a long and happy marriage. So we had a lovely conversation, and I hope I could give her some tips based on my experience. I would be very happy for her; she is a kind and helpful woman.
This morning continued with helpful people. First, another young lady from the reception helped me bring my e-bike inside. Then a guest approached me and asked if he could help me take the heavy bike down the stairs. Even though I might have managed on my own, I didn't want to refuse such an offer. Even without luggage, the bike still has a considerable weight. Additionally, someone had to hold the door open for me so I could exit. The helpful man is named Stefan and comes from Australia. At this point, I thank everyone for their help and interest in my journey.
It was a bit easier to get out of Warsaw than to get in, but there were still many street crossings. I rode more than 20 kilometers until I felt that I was no longer in the huge city. Nevertheless, I couldn't continue at the desired pace, as the bike paths were arranged in such a way that I could never reach the usual speed I'm accustomed to.
At the first opportunity to buy something, I made a stop since I hadn’t eaten anything. The resting spot was soon at the side of the path. Thus, I could relax and unwind a bit.
Later, I found a very long stretch of loose-surface roads through the woods, which I usually do not like. However, it went quite well here, as the road didn’t have gravel or sand. It was more like a forest path like we have, just with some potholes and puddles that I could easily navigate around. About two-thirds of the way through this stretch, I found a resting area by a large pond. Here I noticed for the first time that I hadn’t seen storks in a long time. Surely, there was enough food for them here.
After that, I continued on and reached my destination without further delays. Today's host also welcomed me kindly and speaks German as well. 👍
