Weddings in Unusual Places in the Region
For all those planning to say 'I do' in 2025, our small series 'Yes, I Do!' introduces unconventional wedding venues in the region. The octagonal Oppenweiler Water Castle is located on an island in the middle of a small, artificial lake, surrounded by an idyllic park. In 1939, the municipality acquired the castle along with its gardens and set up its town hall there, which remains one of the most beautiful in the country to this day. The wedding room, known as the Belvedere, on the top floor of the town hall offers the possibility to hold the ceremony in the well-known octagonal water castle of Oppenweiler. A place that makes saying 'I do' unforgettable with its romantic ambiance and stunning view of the castle garden. The town hall and its surroundings also offer an incomparable setting for photography. For the subsequent celebration, you can rent the Rentamtskeller or the Julius-Zehender-Haus located in the castle garden opposite the castle. For inquiries regarding rental, you can contact Simone Wahlenmaier at Tel: 07191 484-37 or via email: swahlenmaier@oppenweiler.de Perhaps some details about the castle's history: On the site of a water castle from the late 13th century, Baron Johann Franz Georg Ernst von Sturmfeder built the remarkable, neoclassical water castle in the heart of Oppenweiler in 1783. The nature-oriented park was designed according to plans by the famous landscape architect Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell, who also created the English Garden in Munich and the Schwetzingen and Hohenheim parks. In the course of the 19th century, Friedrich Carl von Sturmfeder had the castle in Oppenweiler renovated. In 1939, the municipality acquired the castle along with its gardens and set up its town hall there, which remains one of the most beautiful in the country to this day.#YesIDo#WeddingInTheWaterCastle#UnforgettableWeddings#RomanceInTheRegion#WeddingDream2025#CastleRomance#WeddingInTheGreen#RomanticWedding#wedding2025 #weddingInTheCastle #weddingInBadenWürttemberg #wedding #weddingInspiration #weAreInTheSouth
