Rather, the efforts of long-distance walking can lead anyone to spiritual enlightenment, mental satisfaction, and reduced materialism. Our report stands for pilgrimage itself, not for the religion behind it. In every religion, there are places and paths of pilgrimage. Since the dawn of humanity, there has been a longing to walk. Whether to Villa de Guadalupe, Mecca, Puri, Jerusalem, Lumbini, or Santiago de Compostela, one walks for the sake of the journey and to seek enlightenment. The goal is always the realization of the good in life. Today, we opened our treasure chest and actually have something special planned with you: we are going to Unicorn City to pilgrimage. What? Unicorn City? Oh no, let's skip that!!! What kind of report is that? We are past that age! Well then, to start: we are going to #UnicornCity #SchwäbischGmünd and pilgrimage the last part of a #pilgrim path, which YOU can choose. You can select your starting point; the destination is the pilgrimage complex St. Salvator in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Pilgrimage complex sounds too touristy again? Not at all! The opposite is true! It consists of two rock chapels that together form the pilgrimage church St. Salvator, as well as a Stations of the Cross with several chapels. The #Stations of the Cross as presented in Schwäbisch Gmünd is unique. And we, at Baden-Württemberg in Pictures, love the unique in our region! The ascent to St. Salvator at the edge of Gmünd's city center is less a hiking path in the conventional sense but rather a short, steep section that leads visitors to one of the most impressive religious buildings in the region. This #Pilgrimage site at Nepperberg attracts many visitors, pilgrims, and believers, yet there is still ample space for quiet reflection and thoughtful consideration. There are no typical pilgrimage supplies like walking sticks or identification cards, nor any pendant necklaces. Instead, visitors can immerse themselves in the past, enjoy the moment in the here and now, or think hopefully about the future. Everyone is allowed to linger in their own way. Just a few steps from the train station begins the traditional Stations of the Cross leading up to St. Salvator. This sanctuary, impressively situated on a steep slope, was created around 1617 by the church builder Caspar Vogt, who expanded the existing caves into an upper and lower chapel. Here, nature and religion meet in a very special way. The St. Salvator offers not only a soothing pause for the soul but also a magnificent view over the medieval gold and silver city of Schwäbisch Gmünd. Those who wish to linger longer can do so on Sundays from 11 AM to 8 PM in the Salvator Klause with a refreshing drink. The paved path is also suitable for strollers, but it requires some strength for pushing. The pilgrimage path to St. Salvator is a short yet significant section that leads visitors to one of the most impressive religious buildings in the region. For those wishing to walk a longer distance, the path can continue along the Life Path, which starts at St. Salvator and leads to the Weleda Gardens. There, Café Oh Mother offers a place to rest (opening hours: Wednesday to Friday 11 AM to 6 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 6 PM). In our hectic society, the need for relaxation, spirituality, and the search for meaning is growing. The Life Path in Schwäbisch Gmünd meets this need by providing an inspiring and contemplative trail through the recreational forest in #Taubental. It is not an art-sculpture path accessible only to an educated audience, but rather 'meditative #folk art' that opens up to broad sections of the populace through experience and participation. The concept of the Life Path is designed so that it can be walked both from the Christian Guest Center Schönblick as well as from St. Salvator. After each three different stations, one reaches the station 'Eternal Life' in the midst of the forest.
