Tuscany 2001 - Day 6

Thursday, 14.6.2001

The nights are now consistently characterized by good sleep and this time also by a dream early in the morning with many models at a photo shoot. "In the thick of it instead of just being there" or something like that ;-)

The holiday is celebrated with great ceremony - an extensive breakfast with my scientific treatment of a topic in microphysics that the audience present will probably only appreciate in the second instance:

"Why and how can flies find support and move on a glass plate or window?"

Then it's time for a creative break and a pleasurable doze under the parasol, followed by the obligatory lengths and laps in the pool.

Keeping to the southern schedule, there is a little culture in Monteriggione in the late afternoon and an attempt at shopping in Poggibonsi. But there are no beautiful clothes, just - once again - beautiful women. Viva Italia!

After the excellent and sumptuous meals prepared by my chefs, I grant them revenge for yesterday's poker triumph. However, I am mentally influenced by my opponent (true to the motto "unlucky in gambling, lucky in love", Illungo promises that I will meet a pretty Italian woman the next day) and so I lose as I wished. It is almost midnight and in joyful anticipation I go outside to get some fresh air.

Lots of fireflies, a magnificent starry sky with the Milky Way, the Big Dipper and the North Star, the ISS space station speeding by and a mighty shooting star. Gigantic, phenomenal and absolutely impressive!

The philosophical insights of the day:

People in Italy live more intensely! Perhaps because they wear fewer layers of clothing and are therefore in direct contact with the environment with their bare skin. Of course, this environment and this climate also contribute to this. (Motto: If it works, it works!).

Life is determined by give and take. Yin and Yang, so to speak. And being one with yourself. That is exactly the realization - and the story that you will be able to read tomorrow.

So this day was also a good one and I fell asleep happy and content.
