Pisa 2026 - Day 8

Sunday / Domenica, July 5, 2026 – Day 8

Woke up at 11, had coffee and it was actually time for a siesta. Until then, warmed up a bit in the shade and wrote these lines. Antipasti, finished reading the book, siesta until 3.

A real rest day, more siesta until 5, then casually headed to Pisa. At this time everything is very relaxed, pleasant temperature, significantly fewer tourists than during the day, the food at Metodo is as good as always, the tower still leaning as always, and Lisa managed to find the last necessary souvenirs. And I got another strange 50 from the Pakistani just like last year…

La Bottega del Gelato at Piazza Garibaldi by the Ponte di Mezzo – fantastic, creamy, super good ice cream and as I noticed 25 years ago: it melts very quickly now as well.

We are still sitting outside and enjoying the last evening in Italy. Slept well until 11:30 when we were jolted by fireworks. The Russians are coming!
