Pisa 2026 - Day 6

Friday / Venerdi, July 3, 2026 – Day 6

Wake-up at 7, departure at 8 to La Spezia. Easily found a parking spot in the train station garage (Parkcentrostazione) and immediately a small cafe for second breakfast: C'est Bon.

We stroll through the centro to the harbor and look for a shady spot on the promenade, as it is already quite…hot. Then we head towards the Cruise Terminal, but it is only for cruise ships, and we have to walk to the other end of the promenade to the line boats. There we wait in the glaring sun to board, but our tickets are never checked, not at all, the whole journey to Vernazza!

Finally, we set sail, but we have to transfer in Portovenere, for some reason. Possibly to a ship suitable for 'high seas'. In any case, we pass by the Italian Navy and then head out to the open sea – cool!

The tower in Vernazza is tiny, so we enter the restaurant in the Belforte bastion and dine excellently. There are of course many, many souvenirs here in Cinque Terre, and we buy quite a few. We return by train (white tracks here as well due to the heat) back to La Spezia for the car.

Then quite late, around 7, we are finally home, and I enter the pool; then it's the end of water games for today. One or two beers while looking into the distance towards Pisa, as the little Batmans fly around and I, completely exhausted, crash into bed at 10:30. Buona notte!
