Wednesday, September 17. Day 9
Return journey. Enjoying another hearty breakfast and dropping by the superlocal for the oil. Well, it was clear that no one would be there at 9. But this gives us a point for planning the next trip to the area. And I also forgot the cookies from Nannini for Mika and we didn't stop by Guido, and I didn't visit the Basilica Cateriniana di San Domenico again…
Ciao Siena! See you!
On our way home, we will also make a stop at Lamborghini in Sant’Agata Bolognese. We'll visit the Lamborghini Museum and have a factory tour through the halls. It is incredibly clean here and 1,000 employees produce cars here, for which you have to expect waiting times of 1 to 3 years. For that, you can request any shade, not just outside but everywhere. Lisa also drives her personal best time in the simulator with an Aventador at the Red Bull Ring Spielberg.
As a contrast to the over-the-top world, we stop by McDonald's in Bologna to fuel up for the journey. The stretch from Bologna to Padua is laborious, but after that, there's less traffic and we have a speedy Villacher A6 tractor on our way back home from Udine, until suddenly a truck cuts in. At the Austrian border, we have to weave through the truck stop because of customs and refuel again in Villach. Thus, after a total of 2,123 km, we have safely arrived back in Graz.
Summary: A beautiful, relaxed vacation. A lot seen, (almost) everything worked as planned. Excellent food, entertaining and important conversations with my beloved daughter. Thank you very much!
