In Da Nang, I wanted to reconnect with some social contacts after spending a lot of time alone in Hoi An. I met up with Dev, whom I had met in Nha Trang, and a few other Brits, and we enjoyed an evening of eating, walking, drinking, and dancing.

The hostel I chose was directly above a vegan café and had a nice wooden decor, although I didn't actually support the café since it was a bit too expensive for me.

The next day, while I was at the beach, one of the surfers approached me, and we chatted a bit.

That day, I visited a temple and the monkeys on the peninsula with Paddy, but in the evening, I met up with Tintin and got to know his friend Muoi, with whom we sat for a while and chatted.

The next day, Muoi took me on his motorbike to run some errands for his restaurant, and suddenly I found myself with Ha Linh and Ha La's family. I played some badminton with Ha Linh and talked a lot with Ha Lam; the family offered me fertilized eggs to try, and I was very happy to be among locals. In the evening, I sat with a group of Vietnamese friends of Muoi who shared some beers and snacks after work.

The holidays for the Vietnamese New Year began to approach, and many shops slowly closed. There were no more buses to Hoi An, so I grabbed a Grab motorbike with my backpack and daypack, and trained my body’s tension during the 45-minute ride.
