Seychelles - Day 9: Praslin - Anse Lazio

Dreaming of the sunrise, the alarm rang too early, but when we looked from the balcony at 6 AM, heavy rain was pouring from the sky. Well, we hit the snooze button again and gave the sun a second chance at 8 AM. However, it didn't fully seize this opportunity either. At least there was no more rain. 

After breakfast, we packed our beach gear, which for us means beach mats, towels, and snorkeling equipment, and made our way to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - Anse Lazio.

We found ourselves a cozy little spot and eagerly jumped into the water with our snorkeling masks. Unfortunately, we were bitterly disappointed. The waves stirred up the water too much to see much of the underwater world. A few curious fish that gathered around us and swam a bit with us were probably wondering what we were doing there.
As the waves got bigger and even pulled the snorkeling masks off our faces, we decided to end our snorkeling adventure for the time being and instead threw ourselves into the waves. 

Tsunami-like waves crashed far above our heads. We jumped in, dived through, let ourselves be carried away, and now and then we also had to swallow - literally, because sometimes we overlooked one of those gigantic waves and the desperate escape ended with a rush of delicious seawater in our mouth, nose, ears, and just about everywhere else.
With pants partially pulled down, a full belly of seawater, and a few scrapes on Tanja’s behind, we relaxed on the beach for the afternoon. 

Of course, for Tanja and Roli, a relaxing day at the beach also includes some sports. First, some strength exercises in the sand and then a run along the bays around our accommodation.

We enjoyed dinner at the nearby 'Le Vasseur La Buse Eco Resort' as their only guests with a view of the illuminated pool and the sea.
