We continue and are looking forward to a parking spot at a harbor. The drive goes towards Agios Nikolaos through the mountains...wow, what a route. Magnificent winding roads and a speed limit of 40 km say it all about how the road goes...but it's really a lot of fun. The spot is in Pachia Ammos at the harbor...we see the entrance to the harbor but unfortunately can't turn left...a double solid line tells us...keep going and turn around somewhere. Said and done, we drive toward the harbor, turn right...a bit through houses and suddenly we are at the lovely little harbor. Unfortunately, there are no boats docked there; we don't even know if the harbor is still in use.

We put on our running shoes and take a walk into the village, our goal is a bakery or a supermarket. It's said that there's a great bakery open...which turns out to be misinformation on the internet. No matter, the supermarket is small but nice and has many things for daily needs, including bread. A shopping trip with bread, meat, and spread quickly rings up the register to 47 euros...oh man...but the meatballs are really delicious.

A royal dinner with meatballs and potatoes rewards us for such a long drive. It's enjoyed with pleasure and after dinner, we think we’ll settle in for a cozy time....or so we thought...

It starts with me seeing teenagers in the twilight who keep peeking around a corner and pointing at us...small alarm bells went off. Shortly after, these teenagers turned off the lights at the harbor and blinded us with really strong green lasers, and everyone knows that's not really healthy. We close the pleated blinds, but through the mirrors and the windshield, we are getting more and more affected, and we decide...let's pack up and leave together...better that way. We see that on the opposite side of the harbor at the chapel, lasers are being used as well...that's not good and we are a well-coordinated team and ready to leave in 2 minutes...without a plan of where to go, but that will unfold itself. A teenager on a moped provocatively blocks our way...but honestly, we are stronger...we leave and are still followed by laser lights, and the moped driver continues to follow us for a while...also with lasers. Let's get out of here...and the village won't see us again...what a pity...really a pity. We feel that it has left a 'bad taste' behind and that’s not nice. Oh right, I almost forgot...the decision to leave was made when something hit under the car. Freddy got out to wave me out and discovered that there were stones under the car that weren’t there before. Really not nice. We could still see that a police vehicle had driven towards the chapel.

We just keep driving and find a lookout rest area in the mountains after half an hour, which at least was a little away from the road...but honestly, nobody would pass by there in the dark at night anyway. We were lucky that the full moon wonderfully supported us while driving through the mountains, allowing us to safely navigate the winding roads. The view of the town below is spectacular, and we are pleased to have found this quiet spot...but as already said...there’s a 'bad taste' to it.

One thing made us happy...a thunderstorm was approaching, and lightning struck down. Freddy has a lightning radar and was able to determine that 2 lightning strikes occurred in the village...we admit that we saw that a bit as revenge.

The night went quietly, and surprisingly I could really sleep well...
