A day of rest (and air-conditioning challenges)
We were up and out early to get to the garage recommended by Romeo. It was just 10 minutes away and we arrived just after 8am. After a false start with someone who didn’t speak...

Yesterday was travel day. We said goodbye to the AirBnB house, left the key under the doormat and were away by 7.30am. Not much to note except the journey, that was pegged as 3.5 hours last night was only 2.5 hours today. We did get on the road early so even though we broke the golden travel rule - never travel on a Friday or Saturday - our journey was very easy. We got a good couple of hours in of Shanteram, our story book, and travelled through some beautiful, Tuscan and Umbrian landscape.
We are now at a lake-side campsite on Lago Di Trasimeno.
Sunday was billed as rain all day. What we have come to learn is that that often translates to “some rain but clear times too” so we decided on a local day, so walked to Castiglione del Lago, the local village, a charming fortified medieval village on the top of the hill, with castle included. We may be getting a little blasé about all these charming places.
We then walked home via the local Lidl and are expecting to do not much for the rest of the day, to sit out any rain and get to tomorrow, which is mostly dry, when we plan to cisit Assisi (another UNESCO Heritage site, groan).
