Hello,
I'm back in Thailand and immediately took the train to Ayutthaya. The city is located 80 km north of Bangkok and was the former capital of Siam.
The train ride was very easy, fast, clean, and cheap. It only cost 11 Baht, which is 25 cents, to get there. Once I arrived, I rented a bicycle to explore the city.
Unfortunately, the old temple complexes are now minimal, and there isn't much left to see. There are several temples scattered around the city, but not much remains.
Anyway, it's very humid here, so I quickly toured the city. After 2 nights, I took the train back to Bangkok and flew south to Krabi. Unfortunately, it was already dark when I arrived, so I could only imagine the beautiful nature. In the morning, I woke up in the middle of the nature, in the woods at the foot of a mountain. It was amazing.
I rented an old, rickety moped and headed to the Tiger Cave Temple. I had to climb over 1,237 steps to reach the giant Buddha statue, and everyone was sweating and exhausted when they reached the top.
But the reward was a breathtaking view. I climbed back down (which was luckily less strenuous) and continued towards Krabi. I explored the small town, got a much-needed haircut, and then treated myself to a Thai massage. It was very important to relax my muscles after the strenuous climb.
Now I'm heading to Ko Lanta to hang out and relax, and then this amazing journey will come to an end. You'll hear from me again in 2 weeks with a final report. Until then...
Thank you
