After a good 12 hours on the way from Japan to Seoul and Cebu, I finally arrived in the warmth again. I checked into the hostel at 2 a.m. and then slept in bed for a few hours. After breakfast, I went into town to see what was going on. Well, apart from one huge shopping center next to the other, not much. So I spent the morning in the shopping malls and was able to do a few errands. I then spent the afternoon on the hostel's roof terrace. I finally spent the evening in a hostel again where you can get to know people and not everyone is as reserved as in Japan. I couldn't wait for the next morning, because it was the day Antonia arrived. I used the morning for myself and then went to the airport to pick her up. The excitement must have been written all over my face, because the taxi driver asked me straight away whether I had important visitors and that was why I was so excited. I made it through the traffic chaos to the airport right on time. Being able to hug someone from home again was pretty nice for me. After checking in, we made ourselves comfortable in the hostel and Antonia was able to really arrive in Asia. We then spent the evening at a karaoke night until sunrise. I would say that was pretty much the best start to this trip that we could have imagined. The next morning, Antonia was able to sleep off her jet lag and I caught up on the sleep I had the previous night. We started the day with a very late breakfast and headed into the city. Unfortunately, we didn't find anything more than a few rather questionable markets. So we went back to the hostel empty-handed and settled in again in the rooftop bar with food and a beer. Unplanned, this night also lasted a little longer because it didn't matter anymore π . The next morning, however, we continued on to Moalboal by bus first thing in the morning. We both couldn't believe our luck to finally get out of this incredibly ugly city of Cebu City. Without exaggerating, this is definitely the ugliest city in Asia that I have ever been to. After about 4 hours of bus travel, we finally arrived in Moalboal and were given a very warm welcome at our hostel. We then looked for something to eat and headed to the sea. Finally, our feet were in the sea again and Lea was happy! We then grabbed our bikinis and headed to the beach. We then really enjoyed the sea to the fullest. We just lay on the beach until sunset and were enchanted by the colors in the sky. In the evening, we checked out the chilli bar and were not disappointed. The next day started early to see the sardine shoals. After being snorkeled by Koreans and seeing a turtle (the first one I had seen in the wild), we went back on our scooter to a somewhat emptier beach. There we enjoyed the time until the afternoon between local children, coconut palms and white sandy beaches. A little more action was on the agenda the next day, namely canyoning. We started with a super fresh breakfast from the market before we plunged 15 meters into the depths of the river. Some landed better, others less so. Then we went downstream for 4 hours to the Kawasana Falls. We had a great group and had a lot of fun despite the many tourists. I have rarely felt so exposed to tourist entertainment, but somehow that was exactly what made it fun. Thanks to our guide, there are even pictures of us, because he loved taking pictures. The last evening in Moalboal was really enjoyed in the Chilli Bar. The next day we left pretty early for the ferry to get to the next island! π«ΆπΌ
