Yes, yesterday was a crazy day. Arrival at the port at 8 AM in thick fog, so no chance to dock. It was postponed again and again by 1 hour until finally at 1 PM we received the go-ahead. Our excursion to Santiago de Chile was actually scheduled for 8:30 AM and was supposed to last 8 hours, but we finally disembarked at 2:30 PM. The Chilean lunch we were looking forward to unfortunately did not happen. On the way to the capital, we passed many vineyards and eucalyptus plantations. The Andes mountain range, stretching from Colombia to Chile with a length of 7400 km, really needs to be seen. Santiago de Chile is an exciting and very clean city with many attractions. In the late afternoon, we visited the artisan market. Each craftsman was present and working, truly handmade. From jewelry to wooden carvings, knitted and crocheted clothes, musical instruments, and much more. I quickly decided to buy a new sewing machine. ;-) At 7:30 PM, we headed back to the ship. During the 2-hour return trip, we enjoyed the evening atmosphere and the unforgettable beautiful sunset.
