2nd Day Valparaiso Chile: sunny 22 degrees
Today we visited Vina del Mar, a holiday destination for many Chileans; everything here is three times more expensive than in Valparaiso. The museum about the Easter Islands was very enlightening, and we learned a lot about the history of the Easter Islands. That was already a preview of our next stop. Back in Valparaiso, we explored a flea market and then drove to the highest point of the city. We always thought San Francisco had the steepest streets, but that was far from the truth; here they are even more steep, we were told they are almost 90%, yes, our driver had his own problems. The many colorful houses and beautiful graffiti transported us into a new world once again. Now we are set for 4 days at sea, then the next stop is the Easter Islands.
