After a one-hour delay due to a medical emergency overnight, we arrived in Rio de Janeiro at 10:30 AM. We then took a bus to the base station of the cogwheel train through the Tijuca National Park to Corcovado. We were certainly not the only ones, so we stood in line for half an hour in 40-degree heat before we were finally allowed to board the cogwheel train, it was so beautiful. The view from the top was simply breathtaking, Rio lay at our feet. We can't even describe this unique feeling. Then we headed to Copacabana, a long stretch of sandy beach that is visited not only during the day but also at night. Now we're back in the cabin and looking forward to a cold shower. Tomorrow we're off to Sugarloaf Mountain, bye
