Our excursion today was so diverse, first to Sugarloaf Mountain which was not easy at 37 degrees and after a 45-minute wait, but the view made us forget all the hardships, simply unique. Back in Rio, we headed to Copacabana, a 5 km long sandy beach with countless restaurants. The water was 'only' 23 degrees warm, yet it was a refreshing escape for everyone after work. What surprised us a lot was how clean the city is and that there aren't many dropouts. We continued to the Sambodromo da Marques de Sapucai where the first preparations for the Rio Carnival, which starts on February 28, 2025 and lasts for 10 days, are already underway. Upon returning to our ship, we were greeted with cold washcloths and cool water, which we greatly appreciated after such a long trip. Adios Rio, our next destination is Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 25, so goodbye and see you soon.....................Ernst and Edith
