On April 4th, the moment finally arrived; we were six heading to the ceremony at the Vaterstetten municipality.
In the morning, I struggled a lot to style my hair in an acceptable manner. Thankfully, Regina added some more hairpins and what felt like a whole bottle of hairspray to keep everything in place throughout the day.
The rest was quickly done, and Simon was finished in no time as well, leaving enough time for a small breakfast for four with the future in-laws, Regina and Klaus. Shortly after ten, my parents joined us, and at 10:40 AM, we made our way along the short path across the field to the registry office. Both fathers didn’t miss capturing every step with their cameras.
The ceremony itself was nice, though not particularly emotional, but the registrar did his best. Signing with my new name felt a bit unusual, even though I had already occasionally signed for Simon's packages with his last name. I found the ceremony with the close circle of parents completely sufficient and wonderful.
Back home, we toasted with sparkling wine and enjoyed Simon's meal before visiting the cows at the Reitsberger Hof in the afternoon, still stuffed, and having some cake.
