Wedding Bells

... Well, there may not be any bells, but I am already looking forward to our wedding. We will keep it small, and only our parents will be present at the civil ceremony in Vaterstetten.

We have also written a speech and chosen a lovely song that will be played during the ceremony. We actually set the date before the official proposal. However, Simon really put in the effort on June 6, 2024, and gave me a beautiful marriage proposal on Usedom at the beach.

I will wear my beautiful blue dress for the ceremony, and Simon will wear a suit with a light blue shirt. We won’t exchange rings since we both hardly wear any jewelry, and the rings would only get in the way or end up in a drawer. But as the registrar so beautifully put it: 'Rings and witnesses are just decorative accessories and not a necessity.'

Two weeks after the ceremony, there will be a small celebration with friends and neighbors at our home. We'll see how festive we can make it.
