The Three Temples

As we were slowly running out of ideas on where to go in and around Kandy, the owner of our accommodation gave us some tips. Today, we visited three temples close to each other: Gadaladeniya Raja Maha Viharaya, Sri Bodhirathna Rajaramaya, and Pamunuwa Sri Jayasumanarama Buddhist Temple.

The first temple had an entrance fee of 1000 rupees, while the other two were free. There were many old paintings and sculptures to admire. There were also two ponds with fish and frogs.

We skipped the second temple at first and walked along a very quiet side street to the third temple. Here, there were many beautiful plants and rice fields to see, along with a few cats that even wanted to be petted.

The temple complex is not particularly spectacular, but is nice to look at.

At the last temple for the day, construction work was taking place and the dogs were quite territorial, so we decided to turn back.

On the way back, we stocked up on a lot of fruit and some samosas for the evening, and then it was time to head back to our accommodation.
