11 Days of Boisenberry Work

Published: 10.12.2024

11 days are now completed, and today there was fresh money again. Here is a brief daily routine of my current life.

5:13 the alarm rings, get dressed and brush my teeth

5:30 Start work

8:30 first break, toast, toilet, and sunscreen

8:45-11:45 second shift

Lunch break or finish

13:00 usually at the latest finish work

Outdoor shower, lunch snack, and relax

Nap

15/16 o'clock beach, tennis, or playing cards

Shopping

19/20 o'clock cook dinner properly

Play cards or watch a series

22:00 bedtime

23:00 at the latest sleep

Working is significantly more relaxed and efficient than the kiwi work, as the working atmosphere is right and our bosses are friendly. Additionally, I make good money; on average, I collect 8-9 trays per hour, which translates to an hourly wage of 32-36 dollars. Since one tray (2.5kg) is worth 4 dollars. The only downside is that my hands and arms suffer greatly from the thorns and of course everything gets dirty quickly. Otherwise, it’s fun to pick while listening to music, chatting, or snacking.

In addition to visiting the beach together, playing cards, and working, there have also been a few highlights in the last few days.

We were at a concert at Ohope Beach with 4 French people and had our fun with mediocre music, which got better towards the end of the evening.

To my delight, we can use the family's tennis court at any time, which is why I already played a few rounds with Theo, the farm family, and other farm workers.

Another highlight was the joint white-water rafting in Rotorua, which I did together with Theo, Clara, and Margot. On site, we met two more very friendly French companions. The rafting lasted 1.5 hours and offered everything from rapids to the largest rafting waterfall in the world (6.5m). It was a lot of fun and was completely worth the little money due to the Black Weeks sale.

For tomorrow, a volleyball match with the whole team is planned after work.
