After arriving in Husavik on Saturday, we signed up for a whale watching tour the following day. Due to the poor weather and the fact that the operator couldn't go out the day before, our bookings were postponed to later days, meaning we could only go today. This turned out well since the weather and sea conditions were quite good today. During the tour, we initially saw many puffins and other birds. Then we continued on to the whales. We were able to observe them several times as they surfaced to breathe after their approximately 5-7 minute dives, before diving again - during which they display their tail fin. It's difficult to photograph them with the phone since they are only briefly at the surface, and you never know exactly where and how far away they will appear. Being this close to these animals is indeed a special experience.
