In Husavik, we also visited the very interesting Whale Museum before setting off south again. Yesterday, we met up with Harry, a travel acquaintance from the ferry, with whom we have stayed in touch via WhatsApp and phone. He recommended a tour to Laki, which we did today. It was yet another absolute highlight of our trip. We climbed the mountain and had a fantastic, almost surreal view. From there, you can see an entire chain of craters, a lava field spanning several hundred square kilometers, a massive glacier, and endless expanses. The landscape, both from above and on the drive, seems out of this world and resembles more that of the Moon and Mars - that was definitely our impression. Despite very strong winds (a storm), even on the mountain, it was a great day.
