Lonely Northeast

Yesterday traveled from Bakkafjörður further over Vopnafjörður to Þorshöfn. The Westfjords are already very sparsely populated, but in the northeast we saw even larger uninhabited expanses. On the roads, you are almost alone, and when you stop, you only hear the wind and perhaps a few birds. In Þorshöfn, we visited the deserted peninsula with the lighthouse and the abandoned village of Skalar, and afterwards drove through the uninhabited area to Raufarhöfn. There, we also visited the Arctic Henge and the lighthouse.
