Two days ago, we landed in Kuching. Kuching is the capital city of Borneo. As Borneo is a country in Malaysia, Kuching is, in terms of significance, similar to Wiesbaden ;-) It's not a particularly beautiful place, but it's a starting point for the Bako National Park, where the proboscis monkeys live - and only in this area. It's unbearably humid and the accommodation in the national park does not have air conditioning. Soon we will look like we're in a sauna.... but it's worth it. Thanks to our guide, we saw so much once the day visitors were gone: of course the proboscis monkeys, 2 green vipers, silvered leaf monkeys, Javan langurs, a sloth. However, we had to endure strenuous hikes for this - now we are completely exhausted.
Tomorrow we continue to Mulu, a cave system.
