It is 10 PM and we are still sitting in the taxi on our way to our hotel. Today was a travel day. We are no longer on Sumatra, but on Java. Although we are still in the same country, it felt like a journey around the world: one hour by boat, three and a half hours by car, significant flight delays, three hours of flying, and one hour by car. The only downside: we can now claim that we have left three islands behind us at the same time (well, almost, two of them were peninsulas). How is that? Just this morning we were on Sumatra, more precisely on the Samosir peninsula in an inland lake, even more precisely on the Tuk Tuk peninsula, which belongs to Samosir.
